I am a professional oboist and cor anglais player in London and have been the Principal Cor Anglais player in the London Philharmonic Orchestra since 1996.
I wanted and needed a case that would hold my instruments safely and protect their fragile mechanisms but that was also light and easy to carry, minimising stress on the body.
So, with that in mind, I have designed a case that not only protects the instruments but also considerably lightens the load. It is extremely light but vey strong - I can really say that it is built to last.
Carbon fibre is the lightest, strongest and most durable material possible for building the case shell.
From the layering of the carbon fibre to the stitching on the handle, the case is all made by hand here in the UK. The case comes in two finishes, matt or high gloss (gloss is shown in the pictures).
It is very stylish and can stand alone or, with its removable, slim and durable cover it can be carried securely as a backpack, on the shoulder or by its hand crafted leather handle.
Music can be slotted between the cover and case and the exterior pockets carry reed boxes and tools and can also house a tablet.
It stands very compactly on the concert stage and I regularly use the case to carry just a single instrument as it's so light and portable.
It works on a daily basis but is also built to survive the rigours of professional touring.
Whether you are a professional, a student or an amateur The Bohling Case will protect your instruments, present them beautifully and make carrying them a much more pleasant experience.
The Bohling case is the perfect balance of protection and functionality and a great alternative for oboists looking for that extra degree of protection."
